Personal History of The Founder
Mr. Ponnampalam, the founder of Media Southwest Ltd is the son of a school headmaster. He was lucky to be born into a middle class family in Singapore and even luckier to have the opportunity to complete his tertiary education at the University of Exeter, United Kingdom. He has his dad and elder brother to thank for this.
He graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) in 1998. He has been married to Trainee Clinical Psychologist Fran John for 12 years.
Ponnampalam is very passionate about developing the local media industry in the South West of England, and placing the South West region on the national and international map for creative and innovative media expertise.
To this end, he has already started the ball rolling by developing Media SW into the only national outdoor advertising company that is based in the South West of England and growing Media SW into the only Cornish owned national outdoor advertising company in the UK, all this within a short span of three years.
Ponnampalam also owns Cornwall Online Media, a company which conceptualises, develops manages, and monetises websites focusing on local, national and global niche online audiences. The company has already spread its wings overseas, and has a presence in Singapore with staff based over there.
